  Great movie, finally Star Trek has an edge to it.It was time to bring new life to it.this new crew, will electrify the future movies. each character, had something to do finally, and contribute to the mission. Its not all about one or two , but all have their moments. And its not artificial, they really contribute, and it make sense. The action is finally outdoors, and out of the livingroom. The ship is no longer the story, with technobable, the story is the people and the events. we don't hear the words warp core or main deflector dish once in this; how refreshing. I didn't feel like i was in an engeneering class room anymore. Don't get me wrong i got all the series at home, and i enjoy all

  This movie was *horrible*... it rewrites trek into something very different from the trek world that we've all gotten to know and like over the years. They should have followed the Nemesis timeline and continued on from there...

  I am not a hard core Trekkie, but I do know a few things here and there. I was curious to see how they would handle preserving the story line without being handcuffed but the old movies and episodes. Star Trek is such a huge franchise the directors where bound to run into issues with following historical cannon. Well.. they figured out a way to build a new story with the same characters we grew up with.. same people, different circumstance. In a way, thats its only failing... that it had to go to an alternate baseline to function, but really they had no choice. Movie quality is high, acting is solid, story was a little simplistic but not too bad for Star Trek... true to form anyway. I
