If it weren't for the story holes, it would've been an AWESOME movie. Not to mention that whomever wrote the script doesn't know the difference between a blackhole and a wormhole. Aside from the swiss-cheese story, the movie did keep me entertained. It was quite funny in a number of parts. It was a let-down, but it's still a good movie. 3-stars

This "new version" (time-line) of Star Trek will create new adventures for all of us to enjoy for years to come. I thoroughly enjoyed this movie and anxiously look forward to the next one. Great!!!! (DF)

Been a trekkie for 40 years and loved it. Die hards may think it doesn't follow the lines of the original series but the whole point is to boldly go where no one has gone before and this installment certainly sets the stage for many more years of Star Trek -- hats off well done and my goodness karl Urban does Deforrest Kelley tribute!!! definitely will go to see this movie again -- it was nice to sit hear the audience laughter and sighs when links to the original crew were made and the mannerisms gave glimpse of the future( past) characters

Disappointing! The movie is high pace, with lack of character substance. Not the high opera drama trekkies are use to. For seeing new actors filling in large shoes from the old cast, I tried giving them a break, but was quickly saddened. One annoying character was Pavel Chekov in this new movie. If it was not his annoying voice, it was his feminine, unmanly actions. The villians which are suppose to be from a sophisticated world looks like they where taken from the local bar. The pressue of putting in fimilar dialoge was to great for the start of a new crew. For example, "Damn it Jim I am a doctor not a ..."!. Also, "You half blooded vulcan". And what's up with Spo
