I thought it was AWESOME!!! I fell head over heels in love with the phantom!!!! I had seen the play and loved it; but Gerard Butler gave such a captivating and powerful performance that I enjoyed the movie more!! My heart broke for The Phantom when he cried!!! I would have told Raoul to leave if I was Christine and stayed with The Phantom!!!! His voice was SO powerful and full of so much raw emotion that I was completely captivated!!! I am now OBSESSED with This Film and with The Phantom!!!! I have already bought the dvd and the book and am buying the cd from the movie tomorrow!!! I was pulled out of the theatr and into the opera hou

Butler, Wilson, and Rossum don`t have the charisma to stop this thing from steamrolling over them, but they`d make wonderful displays in a wax museum. Dishwater has more razzle-dazzle. The film over all was tastefull, but had a few flaws.

The cast is good, the score is sublime, the visuals are sumptuous and it speeds along with a delirious romantic power. I quite enjoyed it.

I have this movie and I have fallen in love with the phantom Gerard Butler. His voice is mesmerizing, not to mention his charm and good looks. I wasn`t sure who he was until my son told me he was the lead signer in the band "Kiss" - I never new. Now, I am looking at other films he has playe in. "Christine", Emmy Rosem is the best. Music is superb! I watch it over and over again. I have alwasy loved this "opera" and have never seen it done better!!

I thought that this was a very good, but not a great movie. I have now seen it on stage and in the movie theater and I both were very good shows. From my perspective, however, Phantom does not come close to THE GREATEST MUSICAL EVER WRITTEN, Les Miserables. Judging from the comments on this Website, I am clearly in the minority in only calling Phantom "very good," as most people could not say good enough things about the show. The highlight of the show for me was Emmy Rossum`s voice.

The movie was superb!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The music was excellent, and the casting was indeed a success. They all had fabulous voices, and the plot was very well put together. One of the best movies I have seen by far.

I thought the film is amazingly powerful, the messages of obssesion, love, and power and clearly shown throughout and the music truely moved me. It was fantastic!

"Phantom" generally remained true to the musical, with all of the effects of the screen adding quite beatifully to the finished product. Emmy Rossum did quite well as Christine, as did Butler for the Phantom. I did find that the writers had humanized the Phantom - instead of being that all-powerful man/angel/demon, his tricks were downplayed and less mysterious. Yet despite that fact, "Phantom" is an amazing spectacle, both for the ears and the eyes.
