It was just okay. I guess it`s one of those films that you have to be a musical fan of.

This was one of the best movies I have ever seen. Romantic, intense, and full of gorgeous scenery, costumes, and music. I`ve seen the play, have both soundtracks, and the book. But this movie, is without a doubt a delight to the eye, ear, and heart. It has every right to be a classic. I have preordered it.

The movie was the best movie I have seen in quite a while. I had never seen the play, but the movie just took my breath away. It was so full of passion and want, it just drew me right into it.

I have seen the play 5 times over the years in New York (2X) , Philadephia,Chicago and London (a fun thing to do when traveling for business!). It is my favorite play of all time (and I do get to NY quite often from Philly to see many plays...). The romance triangle is not as apparent in the play, but very apparent in the movie due to actors being closer in age. The play is more Phantom as svengalli ... I never wanted the Phantom to get the girl in the play ... but, DEFINATELY in the movie! The movie also gave you so much more background to the story, and you can actually see facial expressions (unlike the play...even with good seats!). Th

This movie is fantastic! I sat in the theatre in awe of the gripping spectacle. Although the actress playing Christine wasn`t the best trained singer she played the part of a young, 17 year old very well! I wasn`t overly impressed with the Phantoms voice, but again he did the job. I think the best performance by far was that of Count Raoul! His voice is absolutely superb! Thank-you for finaly making a movie of this wonderful musical opera!

WOW!!! Academy: I`m shaking my head. What happened to reflecting the true talent in film? This is one of the best masterpieces I`ve yet seen, and yet it fails to win ANY Golden Globes, ANY Academy Awards... but why? I`m now convinced the Oscars are purely political. If they were true representation of talent... this would have won as many as such dull films as The Aviator. Bravo to all!
