The film critics who have panned this movie have got it all wrong. The movie was brilliant. From the film`s opening black and white scenes to the conclusion, the audience at the screening I attended were captivated, not a sound in the theatre could be heard, save for what was presented on the screen. I cannot wait to purchase the DVD.

Electrifying. Without out a doubt the finest screen adaptation you will ever see. The voices are magnificent, the staging superb. If you want your "spirit to soar" don`t miss the experience. Tatally captivating. 5 stars

I thought that the film adaptation was long over due, but in return it was well worth the wait! The casting could not have beeen better. Gerard Butler did a brilliant performance. No doubt that this film will make him North America`s next hottest bachelor pick in Hollywood. Good luck on that one, Gerard!

The movie cannot compare to the Canadian production with Colm Wilkinson (however you spell) as the phantom. Overall I liked the movie but parts of the music here and there were altered and I don`t like the alterations. Was it me or did the phantom not wear a hat in the movie? Oh well, superb movie - but some songs were oversung by too many ppl and I couldn`t make out the words even though I new all the songs by heart :)

WOW!! I was speechless when I left the theatre. The movie was absolutley wonderful & fit my high expectations of it. I am a huge fan of the music & the book & seeing it all come to life on the big screen was what I was waiting for. I believe that this is a movie for a wide range of people to go & see, as I`m a teenager & I loved it, as well as a good family movie that teaches you & touches you in some way & it`s only every so often you get the chance to go & see a musical. I have high hopes for this movie and the oscars and & I`m glad to see it`s up for a few golden globes. Overall, this is definitley one of my favourite movies (if not alre
