i didnt read the books, but i want to read them now. i thought it was a damn good movie. no comparison to harry potter or twilight at all (hmmm maybe because the hero is a girl, is that why people are hating it?)

great 142-minute long film
*precursor: i haven't read the book and i am a 19-year-old male.
what makes this movie amazing is the editing, sets, and camera. acting was 3/5, strong but bland. direction was mediocre. but the moving shaky hand-held camera really made this film come to life.
it was pretty emotional, even for a strong guy like me. when you see kids being murdered by other kids cold-bloodily for the sake of 'winning'? that is callous and hard to watch.
-this movie is basically like runescape pvp. in terms of films, it's like the 1978 running man.
go see it! definitely, in theatres!

advice: read the books and watch the movie. and for all those who claim rip off, know that there are only 36 original plots possible. this has been know since roman times.
nothing is original. everything is just a variation on a known plots. what is original is the way the author tackles it and the characters involved.
example: all love stories are, basically, romeo and juliet.

i don't ever post reviews of movies, but this was a horrible movie and a waste of money. knock off of the movie "battle royale" that was released in japan in 2000.
