it was an okay movie. camera work outdoors was terrible. action more implied than visually explicit. an unlikely world where the 'have-nots' must pay tribute for having been 'have-nots' in a previous era of where they revolted in an uprising against oppression by the 'haves'. meaning, the oppression by the 'haves' is still around even in a world of abundance on their side, but now, the tribute by the 'have-nots' is a form of 'entertainment' for the 'haves'.
i don't follow teen/novel/fiction, but a look into the movie based on a series was out of curiosity. movie was a chance for young actors to get work and show/hone their skills.

Wow i loved the movie, it stayed true to the book and was amazing. It was sad, suspensful and exciting (and josh hutcherson plays peeta <3) even tho some parts were left out or messed up its the best. Cant wait to see the second one!!

bad movie in my opinion.... not sure why anyone would want to see a bunch of children/teens running around killing eachother. this movie was very poorly rated and i would not recommend letting your children watch it.

i think this movie is lacking on the directing side. this movie had great potential, but it falls short. jennifer lawrence did a good job. she didn't get an oscar nomination for no good reason. wait to rent it or see it on netflix.
