i hadn't read the book first, so i was very pleased with the movie. strong emotions and disturbing scenes, but basically a quality story. the "futuristic" characters were a bit goofy, but the power of some of the story and scenes made it worth watching.

would have been better if i hadn't read the book first. my expectations were too high. but i can see how it would be a great movie if you haven't read the book.

i liked the movie, but the premice was disturbing. pitting teens against each other to fight to the death, suggests that violence is not only ok, it is normal.
