This was the best movie I have seen this season. Acting was stellar, script was excellent and direction was flawless. A difficult topic to be sure, but a story that needed to be told and needs to be remembered by future generations. 5 stars, easy.

Obvious Oscar bait with the subject matter. A worthy story but trying too hard to be a serious issue drama that nobody can criticize (much like The Danish Girl). The acting was nothing outstanding or particularly challenging. Everybody was fine but very little range of emotion displayed. Important story to tell but not exactly a fun night out at the movies.

Fantastic - an attention grabber and holds one's focus and attention with great acting and a brilliant structure.

Nothing special. Was exactly what I thought it would be. Not surprising that Hollywood makes this movie. Over the top acting by Ruffalo. Any movies about abusive Rabbis?

I liked that this will cause the Pope to squirm because of his lack of action as he protects a corrupt institution.

This movie was an excellent portrayal of the Pedophile priests serving God in Boston. Historically speaking, this is a much wider story. The true story SPOTLIGHT is a microcosm of what happened in First Nations for generations. Members of the clergy usually lived right in the communities. There is documented evidence by the churches themselves. Research into their archives bears witness to this. Priests who were caught molesting children were simply moved to another reserve where the abuse carried on. The nuns were also involved in the sexual exploitation of innocent children and youth. Priests were molesting little boys, impregnating young girls, and nuns were being impregnated by young boys. So much for celibacy and the honor of divinity. Sexual abuse by church officials was rampant in the residential schools according to a survivor.
