Project Hail Mary Overview

After waking up from a coma in a spaceship that is soaring light years away from Earth, Science teacher Ryland Grace (Ryan Gosling) finds himself alone, disoriented, and completely unsure of who he is or why he’s drifting through deep space. As his memory slowly returns, he realizes he's not just simply on a mission, he is humanity's last hope.

A mysterious space-borne organism is draining energy from the sun, and every star around the sun has been infected and is dying – except for one. Grace is on a mission to that last surviving star to try and save Earth from mass extinction. Grace must remember who he is and the purpose of his journey, but just as isolation threatens to consume him, a mysterious visitor from another world changes everything.
