    The Roses

Friday, September 12, 2025 7:16:42 AM | (Age Not Specified)

Disappointing all round. Colman and Cumberbatch come across as cold and charmless, and their sarcastic banter quickly becomes tiresome. There's no chemistry between them, and even the flashback to their 'first date' is wooden and unconvincing. As the plot unfolds, Colman's character becomes full-on nasty. Lots of F-bombs and C-bombs are dropped, for example during a dinner-party scene, presumably for comedic effect, but it's a cheap play. Maybe with different characters this film would have worked? Who knows.

    Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale

Friday, September 12, 2025 6:56:27 AM | (Age Not Specified)

The most boring movie of the last decade, I wanted to leave after 10 minutes. And I liked the first Downton movie as well as the TV series.

Spinal Tap II: The End Continues

just a weak pointless, meandering film with none of the charm of the original and maybe two barely chuckled type jokes… Just rewatch the original and have a great time! This was a waste of money and time unfortunately I really wanted to see something great but this was just a waste of time really...

    Hamilton

I've seen the play twice, the TV presentation several times, but seeing the play on the movie screen was a whole different experience! Seeing the actors faces and expressions in the movie theatre allowed me to experience their every emotion. I saw the minute details in the gowns and soldiers' uniforms. It's little wonder that the play won the Tony for best costumes. Everything in the play was elevated on the big screen-the choreography, the lighting, the sound. What a joyous experience! If you love Hamilton, the play, do not miss it on the big screen!!! And if you don't love the play, the actors and/or the music, be thankful you have so many other options!

    Azrael

67/100 In a post-rapture woodland tribe, a woman to be sacrificed to burnt humanoid creatures, escapes and exacts her revenge. A mysteriously strange film with an unexplained and totally anachronistic outside influence that left me questioning everything while watching our violent and destructive protagonist go from hapless victim to savage avenger. Samara Weaving is great, the world building was impressive, and the action is relentless, although a bit contrived at times. Good, brutal fun ..and that ending, wow! I'll remember that for awhile. Ripe for a sequel. -- DrNostromo.com

    Caught Stealing

Austin Butler shows his great acting talent in this one (plus he's easy on the eyes). Kept me guessing "who's the real bad guys". Great twists in the story too.

    The Bengal Files

The movie is an amalgam of events based on real incidents. Once again the "peaceful and loving" folks have no self control, as shown throughout history everywhere they have infested.

I thought Austin was just another pretty face. Boy was I wrong. This guy has a bright future as he was excellent in the movie. Lots of violence and payback. Great ending
