Underestimated this movie the first 15 mins, then it became very interesting after that first 15 mins.

    Angels in America

Wednesday, April 17, 2024 2:50:10 AM | (Age Not Specified)

Really ambitious miniseries has a number of scenes with considerable emotional power, but it's often maudlin and awfully pretentious. The lead characters are gay men and straight women. The male characters were convincing, but the female characters were thinly drawn. Mary Louise Parker's character was an insufferable flake. All of her lines of dialogue were really purple, and I felt she was more cruel and selfish than the bombastic Roy Cohn. The ultimate subtextual irony is that none of the characters seem to realize how they've been poisoned by politics. I don't think Kushner even realized it. A mixed-bag.

    What About Bob

Wednesday, April 17, 2024 12:33:58 AM | (Age Not Specified)

Ok, so to start with, mental illness is a serious topic, and people affected by it will find this movie offensive as it basically supports each and every stereotype and misconception there is. Having said that, conversely it’s hilarious as a comedy, with the patient becoming the "normal" guy and the therapist increasingly eccentric. Great supporting cast, with various highly memorable scenes, but it makes you cringe at times.

    Come Play

Acting is good but the story a bit flat and repetitive, despite being based on a generally good idea. Love the very last scene!

Almost 40 years after its initial release, this is still a classic! Just the right mix of fun, drama, and philosophy, along with perfect acting by the entire cast. Nice special effects for the time, overall a great movie to enjoy.

No vocal range, no anger, every song has a good final 20 seconds and a ridiculously long bridge.. sooos only at the end?
