  these people who said that it was garbage, they are garbage it was amazing, they didnt understand what the movie was about. a pretty great movie!!

  I thought this was a great action flick. It swept me along for the story. Forget about all the Tom Cruise garbage and enjoy the film. I agree with most though, the ending was thorougly disappointing. Surprised Spielberg required a "hollywood" ending, deeming it necessa ry to wrap everything up nice and tidy. Would have been better if we were left wondering a few details. Otherwise, enjoy the film!

  Don`t be fooled by other reviews - the special effects in this movie were terrible. Basically, go and see Twister, and just add in some aliens - and presto - there you have it. Sci-fi I get, stupidity, I do not. I love a movie where you have to let your imagination run wild, but I had to try and fill in the blanks with this movie, and that I do not like. The best thing I can say for it is that we went to a matinee, so at least the ticket price was less. We left the theatres wishing we had time to see another movie, just so we wouldn`t go home feeling let down.

  I was disappointed with the movie, expected a lot more. The original war of the worlds movie surpassed this trashy remake. The story line was too thin and far fetched for me. I was unable to even warm up to any of the charactors let alone sympathise with them. This is a dog.

  I was disappointed in the story for the old one was so good.Tom Cruise is a fine actor as the other, and the special effects but it still lost what the story was all about.
