I didn't think I would like this movie much but saw it because I like history stuff. I thought it would be more "patriotic" or amateurish.
Quite well done,though not perfect. It reminded me of the type of movies the BBC would make about british history. Washington in this movie was a british citizen,and trying to be a british officer so he could belong to the british upper class. The poster even has him wearing the british flag.
Some of the shots of the landscape were beautiful.The battle scenes were done in a way that was not over the top violent (which is bad) and not heavily sanitized (which is not accurate because war is not bloodless).
Pacing was ok,dialogue was ok,you can tell it had a smaller budget to work with but soon forgot it. I'm probably going to watch the sequel.

Hay to long. Way to repetitive. According to the film God was on the side of the colonists. The hell with the French, British and certainly the Indians.

Little covered history of Washington before the Continental Congress. Enlightening depiction of the cultural differences between the British and the Americans...and perhaps, why America has eclipsed the Mother Country.

The story I thought was interesting. I new some of the story and learned other parts. I always put myself in the movie and say, what would I do in that situation? We don't realize how easy life is now.

This really great movie shows how humble people of good character, who stand in their truth and fight for the greater good, can change lives, help create a nation, & have a postive impact for 100's of yrs. Don't let the negative haters in uour life win. Go for your dreams, who knows where it will take you!
