I'd give it more than 5 stars if possible. Denzel is the greatest actor and the plot to this movie was remarkable. I didn't think it could match first one but I was wrong - Just as good IF NOT BETTER. Loved, Loved this movie. will go see it again for the pure joy of it.

Enjoyable, but the last 45 minutes or so was a bit disappointing. Really felt like you were back in roman times (cuz i know what that's like). Liked the lead actors, but thought the lead actress was a bit weak

The movie from start to end was very entertaining and tied in well to the first Gladiator movie. I'm not sure where all these negative movie reviews are coming from. I thought Denzel Washington played a superb villian and Pedro Pascal did a great job of acting as well. Thought the shark scene was far fetched as how could you get that water into the Collesium

To those sayi g the first review is fake, it is not! I wrote it, and yes, I give Gladiator II 5 stars. I saw the movie in Brazil. It opened internationally 2 weeks before it opened in Canada and the US. What's wrong with people nowadays? If someone writes a glowing review because they absolutely loved a movie, people think it's fake. If someone writes a 2-word, 1 star review, people think it's real. Maybe there should be a mandatory IQ test required before a review is accepted? The 1 star reviews do seem to be fake, and writen out of spite. The haters need to grow up!

A very UNworthy sequel to one of the greatest movies ever. This movie is constantly trying to recapture the magic of the first Gladiator and always failing. The actor playing the lead is not in Russell Crowe's league. There is far too much gratuitous bloodletting and gore. There is more battle action and crazier arena fights than in Glad I, but it seems to be more just an attempt to make up for a somewhat chaotic and contrived storyline. It simply lacks the visceral power and beautiful simplicity of the original.
