It wasn't the gore; It was the escalation of tension/suspense & score
that brought me back a fifth time with the re-release.
Ms Fargeat is the female version of Darren Aronofsky (Black Swan,
Requiem for a Dream). In spite of a fifth viewing, I still found myself tense & holding my breath at times. It is cringe worthy, but brilliant in its messaging on youth & beauty expectations. rh

This movie is just brilliant, visceral, over the top, insane fun. It works as a criticism of our current shallow society, but it also works as a classic Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde style horror flick. It's very long and very gross, but I couldn't take my eyes off it, even if my stomach sometimes wanted me to.

Gave it two stars, just because it was interesting enough to see to the end.'Other than that, run away. It's a waste of time. The story is too strange with so many holes in it we laughed almost all the way through.

This movie tried to hard. The ending was ridiculous, and completely different from the rest of the movie. The bulk of the movie was average for sci-fi. Awesome condo, though!
