I give this movie 4 stars and not 5. It lost a star because of Christian Bale's performance as Batman. He just doesn't have a good Batman voice. The 4 stars all go to Heath Ledger's performance as the Joker. He made me want to stay 'til the end of the movie to see what he could possibly come up with next. If anyone connected to the making of this movie ever reads this, please be aware that Bale is a terrible Batman. Don't ever cast him as the dark knight again... Please!! for the love of all that is good!!! DON'T LET HIM COME BACK AS BATMAN!!!

This movie reinvented itself, unlike the Spiderman movies. Completely different plot type than the first which made it fresh, gripping suspense from the first moment to the last, and Heath Ledger was out-of-this-world incredible as Joker. I saw it in both regular theaters and in IMAX, and though it was great in both I HIGHLY recommend the IMAX experience - truly breathtaking! The end of the movie set up what will be another amazing story for the 3rd movie, which will be very different from the first 2 (without spoiling the ending). This will be a no-brainer to buy when it comes on DVD - heck, I'd consider buying a blu-ray player just for this movie!

I could not possibly enjoy the movie as i should have been able to. The volume was played at an ear damaging level. My ears were ringing when I left the theatre.

I absolutely loved this movie! It has got to be, and is, the best movie I've seen in my entire life! Heath Ledger was exceptional. His make-up, his laugh, and my favourite part about the Joker, his card trick. The only thing is that the Batman's voice kind of ruined the parts that he was in. For example, in the cartoons now a days, the Batman has a very strong, deep, and powerful voice. The Batman in this movie did has a strong voice, but it was scratchy, and harsh, and way too exaggerated. (I guess scratchy and harsh are the same but who cares). The movie was fantastic, and I can't say enough about the Joker and Heath Ledger.
