It was O.K. Could have done without a lot of the over the top effects. Stanley Tucci was amazingly creepy.

I was very disappointed in this movie. I hadn't read the book, so had only trailers and reviews to go by, but it didn't live up to my expectations. While I felt the acting was top-notch, (especially Stanley Tucci...creepy!, the story moved very slowly. There were far too many "between heaven and earth" interludes, and the resolution of the story was extremely unsatisfying. It just fell flat for me.

The movie was very good. I know it's challenging to adapt a book to a movie but the essence of the story remains in the movie. Stanley Tucci did an excellent job. Look out for Peter Jackson in a cameo in the camera shop.

If you read the book DO NOT watch the movie. Worst adaptation ever. They leave out so many KEY things that happen in the book. Anything from the book that that was considered too risky for generic audiences was left out. They turned this book hollywood and robbed its beauty. Seabold is a sellout for letting this happen.

Excellent movie, very touching and deep, makes you think of what's next, what happens to us, are bad people really punished, is there life after death. What is it like to have someone in your family murdered? what happens to the family? The acting was really good as it even added humour in the form of the drunken mother-in -law. Anyway, if you want to go to a movie that makes a statement about life and death and makes you think beyond our everyday concerns, this is it.

There was definite effort put into this film. The visuals are stunning and the acting (Ronan and Tucci, to be exact) was exceptional. But what I couldnt but think was that if I hadnt read the book, would I have fully understood the movie? Jackson did what he could and spent a lot of time in the visuals, but in doing so lost a lot of the story, which took away from the movie as a whole.

WOW.... HOLY STUPID MOVIE!!! Don't watch it... It's not a murder case movie at all... It's too much of a fantasy.. I think Peter Jackson was thinking he was in the Lord of the Rings..
