Normally don't write reviews, but the number of people who didn't get this movie sent me to this site. Peter Jackson is a master at fantasy, and his depiction of the 'in between world' is wonderful. This movie is true to the concept of the book and for that I liked it very much. Don't see it if you have no imagination.

this film epitomizes unmet potential, it's hugely disappointing but still captivating because you can see and feel everything it could have been. Susan Sarandon's role should have been cut out completely, added to the disconnected element that plagues the film. Some brilliant moments though (especially Susie in the bathroom with her killer ) and the cast if great, all of them, including Wahlberg and especially Tucci - didnt' even recognize him! Lead actress is mesmerizing. Oh my god, such a frustrating film.

This movie plays out like a book. And since its based on a book it should. There is so much symbolism that most people might miss. I think when you watch it you need to look closely and analyze the characters. It was really well done and made me cry. I think it would be hard to watch if you have children. It is not a feel good movie. Its feels like have to study a short story in english class and pick it apart. You have to do this to really understand the depth of what the author was going for when she wrote the book. Go see this movie only if you like deep movies or liked the book.

Ive been wanting to see this movie for a long time but I just got the chance to last night with my beautiful girlfriend. Im a huge Peter Jackson fan and I have had the honour of meeting him at one point while he was in Toronto. I went into this movie with big expectations. Ive loved every single one of his movies and then I saw this crap. It was BAD!!! I think the problem may have been because of Wahlberg. I hate him. Good direction though. Horrible script. 2.5 stars for me.

I think the people that are saying this movie is anything better than mediocre are pulling your leg. Probably just want to torture people by sending them for the most boring 8 hours of thier lives. O what? It was only and hour and a half, ugh seemed much longer. Some decent acting, but that's it.

Could have been good, basic story idea is interesting and acting was pretty good. But it was strange and kind of boring in spots. Whoever wrote and directed this must have been on some pretty heavy halicunating drugs

The story is about a tragedy! 9 children murdered! Stars and buterffies are not realy appropriate for the story of movie! These should have been kept for movies about teen's love storyes! Pathetic!!!
