Oh boy, this was terrible! I cannot believe this film is popular at all! The positive review posted below is telling in its way: the insane claim that this film is the second most influential horror film ever is even more dumb than the claim that Halloween is the most influential. What an ignoramus! That person also rails against millennials while claiming that they don't appreciate this film as much as those who grew up "in the 80s and 90s" Oh my God! if you grew up in the 80s and 90s you ARE a millennial!...and a complete idiot!!!

Look, by today's standards this isn't an original horror film at all. It's been done before a hundred times. That's because all the horror movies you millennials have been watching for your 2 decades we're a rip off of Scream. Halloween (1978) was the movie every horror movie copied for almost 2 decades. Freddy, Jason, almost all those indestructible horror slashers were rip offs. Scream was the movie that broke that cycle and became the new movie to copy. Unfortunately the studios decided to make a bunch of garbage sequels and ruin what was so great about Scream. It's a slasher movie that makes fun of slasher movies. It called out every dumb cliche I saw in slashers growing up and came up with an original ending. I'm not writing this to convince you it's a good movie. It was released in 96, it was for my generation not yours. You're not going to get it or be able to appreciate if you didn't grow up in the 80s and 90s. However, this is one of the most influential horror films ever, second only to Halloween. It's not perfect, but it will always be great!

Terrible movie is unbelievably overrated. I had to laugh at the idiot who complained about people who "think the only thing that goes into making a horror movie good is how scary it is"...except that no one here said that. What a maroon! Imbeciles who can't even read properly shouldn't be criticizing anyone else on anything. And if you think that Scream is a good horror movie then you have a lot to learn about the horror genre.

Finally caught this garbage during a Halloween horror marathon. This was about as scary as It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown. What a piece of shit!

Terrible film plays.into the slanderous stereotypes that have ghettoized the slasher subgenre. Completely spastic.

A horrible movie. Real horror fans see right through this counterfeit trash. This film is so braindead that someone should have pulled the plug on it long before it went into production.

The fact that these people think the only thing that goes into making a horror movie good is how scary it is shows that they don't know what the f**k they're talking about.
