  Johnny Depp was good, but outside of a few scenes that show what a psychopathic thug Bulger was, the movie itself was pretty mediocre. Too much real life just isn't that entertaining in a movie that isn't intended to be a documentary. 60 Minutes did a better job.

  Some entertainment value was sacrificed in the interest of fact and detail. Movie did seem to drag on a bit but that's the nature of a story that provides a modicum of truth in spite of those movie goers who don't like to think.

  Johnny Depp is exceptional in this movie, Very different style for him and he carries it off very well. The character was heartless and this came through........

  HORRIBLE waste of time. Great job Depp, however Pesci and Deniro have been there, done that, and were better. The story is boring, and this was a waste of time and money. I'm sure it will scoop up all kinds of awards but for this regular movie goer, one star rating. boooooo

  While Depp delivers a great performance. The movie fails miserably to tell a cohesive and entertaining story. This movie shows why Scorcece is still a master storyteller when it comes to this genre. This movie doesn't even come close.

  not what I was expecting. Depp plays his characters very well, very versitile, not going to be type- cast that's for sure. But it was long, not much action, boring in fact. Not one of my Depp movies to remember.

  Wow! A true drama that keeps you at the edge of your seats. Johnny depp finally plays a villian and deserves an Oscar for this movie.
