    Taking into account the physical environment, the weather, risks and history (as to inter-relationships, Inuk vs. white, day-to-day practical matters and with regard to religious beliefs), the finished product (post edit) represents an extraordinarily valuable contribution to the record of evolving societies, a contribution unlikely to appeal to inward-looking urbanites and Tom Cruise fans.

    Visually very rich but i wish there were more historical accounts made of the traditional beliefs, customs, and taboos. I think the movie cuts way too short when we only see the quite terse contrast between the two worlds. i also don`t want to give a bad impression of the Christian world coming in. It is a noted fact that people who converted into Christianity were people were already part of a law system, not barbaric or aesists which was very obviously that the Inuit had a rich value system of rights and wrongs but the way Christianity is seen is particularly bad. We shouldn`t forget that the Inuit religiousity were, in principle, the r
