    1) Almost all the negative comments are right. Luke is a broken man, Rei is unbelievably strong and wise for one with no training, which is acknowledged in the movie. Ky Lo Ren is no Darth Vader. 2) The villain (Ky Lo Red) is as uninspired as the story. 3) Wah Wah Wha. Star Wars: IV A New Hope is what these whiners are comparing The Last Jedi to, and, of course it can't stand up to the comparison. Especially when A New Hope was watched through teen and pre-teen eyes. A New Hope was a ground breaker on many different levels. High tech Special Effects, the soundtrack, a serious space opera, just to name a few. It hit all the right notes in just the right way, including having an audience ready for it. 4) Despite this, The Last Jedi has a lot going for it. Solid SFX Special Effects and the Star Wars brand. Yes, the plot is weak and unbelievable, yes they broke away from the tried and true plots, but that was what was WRONG with The Force Awakens, it was just a bigger remake of A New Hope. The Last Jedi in all truth, has a respectable story, no less believable than a Bond movie. The major problem with ALL the sequels is that A New Hope was an entire 'Book' with a beginning, middle and end. The sequels are all single chapters of a 'book'. A New Hope was a once in a lifetime type event, all the rest are simply the rest. The Last Jedi hits all the right notes to be a successful sequel, just not to be a groundbreaking stand-alone like A New Hope.

The movie is similar to previous star wars movies. The new actors in this movie lack the screen presence of the original crop

This movie was funny. No so serious like the previous one. I had fun.

A failure but one that will no doubt continue to make money no matter how bad it gets.

I'll miss this franchise. It had such promise to keep cranking out epic films but who would have thought it would deteriorate in politically correct orthodoxy.

He's right. Lets watch what's her name blow up another Death Star. If they wait long enough to produce the next one the five year old kids will be ten and it will be new again.

Now that we've replaced Star Wars with inferior writers, directors and actors the media can gush about how wonderful it has become.
