it received two academy award nominations: best actor in a leading role and adapted screenplay. the academy got it wrong omitting it from the best picture list. it was sad, but i left the cinema feeling happy!. it is a positive movie about life and living your life. every one in the universe should watch this film. we need more happiness all around.

Simple story about trying to find meaning in life, beautifully executed with understated performances capturing the buttoned up postwar society in the UK. Worthy of its Oscar nominations
