Saw the movie twice in theaters only because I held myself back. Music top notch and plot multilayered. People who don’t like it are about as deep as a piece of paper and that’s ok Variety is the spice of life. But for the rest of us what a film.

Weird film. Save your money ! Acting good story mixed and kept waiting for it to get better. Demonic with vampires and
lots of action. A horror show for me not my cup of tea!

Had no preconceptions about this movie. First half of movie left me wondering where this was going. The second half led me down a path of destruction and death. The END

Sammy , well, lets just say he channeled Elvis after a root cannel , and his to the letter, outfit , if anyone has seen the iconic photo of Robert Jonson , the hat , just everything , funny his father does not speak like him , hmm perfect diction. Splashes of promise yes , but I found the hammy Preacher Boy shtick , just off putting . Invent a character just don,t approbate one .

I had the chance to see the movie in an IMAX theater, as the creator intended to be seen. It is a triumph. The movie has vampires in it but is not a vampire movie. The vampires were a metaphor used for the backdrop of so many lessons. The Blues music, the religious aspects, the horror that Blacks lived every single day in evil Jim Crow south, klansmen who ruled without restraint, and so much more. If you haven't seen, then GO. I will see more times because there is so much packed in less than 2 hours.
