  its a love story...ruth and jesse, its a story about predjudice in usa, Germany and of course how corrupt the IOC was then.....Guess what nothing else has changed since 1936....loved the movie...I think if you could take your kids too this...and show them how was then and what things are like now it would be a good thing

  I see the critics are more suspect than the public.....I really enjoyed this movie ...you see the questionable conduct of the Olympic heads who actually act much the same way with bribes....thought the movie showed again how tough it was for young blacks to go to Germany and the backlash in the usa and Germany....I am giving it 4 out 5...it made me feel goo

  Race, like "42," does a workmanlike job of bringing the lead character to life and explaining his historical importance, but it fails to transcend the genre.

  Since I wasn't alive in 1936 I don't know if the the movie accurately portrayed the actual level of discrimination...but I don't think so...Tho, I have an opinion since I was in a 5 car collision in 1963 & 2 of the guys in my car were Black...I also question Jesse's 9.4 100 yard dash time...Was that his Olympic time as well? Did they run Yards or Meters ? Don't think so 9.4 has ever been run,not even by H.Bolt 2016...I did not know about the 2 Jewish runners who graciously bowed out so Jesse could run the relay & increase their chances of a Gold medal in that race.. I HIGHLY recommend this movie !!!

  Enjoyable biopic with natural and compelling performances from all actors. James, Sudeikis and Irons are great.
