a children's (semi-horror) fantasy for adults, excellent cgi, creepy creatures (stop motion fx a la T.Burton); unlikely collective of peculiar all-caucasian kids and villains (except one token black guy as a head villain) set in a time-loop back in early 20th Century during all inter-caucasian "wwii" and a generation later all-caucasian florida, USA (std caucasian fantasy; suited to all-caucasian movie industries, like hollywood); a love story of sorts, mixed in with super/magical/mutant? powers. it was entertaining, other than being silly in many several parts. worth the see.
