  Brilliant movie! Duvall's performance is remarkable. Downey Jr. is very good, as is all the acting. The story is very poignant - funny and serious at the same time - and heartwarming as well! A must see!

  Great film. My only disappointment/confusion was that I thought it was based on the Steve Martini book THE JUDGE. Apparently not.

  I really enjoyed this movie. The storyline was very interesting and the family dynamics were great. I loved Robert Downey Jr. in this role - it's a type of role that he hasn't played in a long time and it did it justice!

  Very good realistic movie showing the love/hate, ups and downs of the modern day family. Well written with an ending that we all can relate too.

  Entertaining but deeply moving. The leading actors were brilliant -- oscar nominations for leading and supporting actors. Yes, the ending was a little contrived but the reality of the messy but all too authentic father/son relationship had more than a few parents shed a tear.
