Stand on It

After watching Stand On It, I was completely disgusted by this atrocity of a movie and had me thinking about one question. “How is this movie a tribute?! It’s a cheap remake!” The majority of the scenes and dialogue are lifted directly from the original “Smokey and the Bandit” movie, thus making it a remake, not a tribute. If this was an all original story with a few nods to the original, I would be fine with it, but what I saw was nothing but a cheap, cash-grab, remake of the original that claims to be a tribute with terrible acting, camera work and a rip-off of the orifinal. If you are a fan of Smokey and the Bandit, I strongly recommend avoiding Stand On It and go watch the original movie, along with Parts 2, 3 and the 1994 TV movies. They are way better and worth with what you are paying for. On a side note. John Schneider, Alicia, and everyone at Maven Entertainment, you should all be ashamed at what you have done. This movie is clearly a cash-grab to bank off of Smokey and the Bandit and also trying to take advantage of Burt Reynolds’ passing. You folks at John Schneider Studios and Maven Entertainment need to be sued by Universal Studios for copyright infringement and are a complete joke of an independent film studio. This was without a doubt the worst movie ever made and a huge insult to filmmaking and someone needs to be put in jail for this atrocity. 0 Stars F-
