Chuck Krantz is brought up by paternal grandparents Albie (Mark Hamill) and Sarah (Mia Sara) after he loses his father and pregnant mother in a car accident. Sarah teaches Chuck to dance, and he later joins his school's dance extracurricular program.
Years later, after his grandparents have passed, Chuck (Jacob Tremblay), now a teenager, inherits their house. Chuck goes off to college and eventually works in finance. Later, Chuck (Tom Hiddleston) gets married and has a son. But he knows something alarming about his future, that he learned when he entered a forbidden, mysterious cupola in his grandparents' house.
Based on Stephen King's novella about three chapters in the life of an ordinary man named Charles Krantz.
