A deaf and mute writer who retreated into the woods to live in solitude must fight for her life in silence when a masked killer appears at her window. This highly underrated nail-biter is one of Flanagan’s very best, an exercise in edge-of-your-seat suspense with a couple of fantastic performances by leads John Gallagher Jr. and Kate Siegel.

Since the release of Hush in 2016, filmmaker Mike Flanagan has gone on to become one of this generation’s greatest genre filmmakers, with films like Doctor Sleep, Gerald’s Game, The Life of Chuck, Fall of the House of Usher, The Haunting of Hill House, and his highly acclaimed limited series Midnight Mass.
