Elliot, un alcoolique à la retraite, se lance dans une quête désespérée pour retrouver son fils toxicomane, disparu depuis deux décennies. Il devra affronter ses propres démons lors de son périple à travers l'Amérique française, où il rencontrera Bourk, un Acadien avec lequel il nouera une amitié improbable.
