In 1982, President François Mitterrand launches an international competition for the Great Arch of La Défense, intended to rival the Louvre and Arc de Triomphe. To widespread surprise, the project is awarded to an unknown 53-year-old Dane, Otto von Spreckelsen, whose bold white-cube design electrifies the city.
Arriving in Paris with his wife, Spreckelsen soon finds his vision challenged by bureaucracy, politics, and budget limits, forcing them to question whether perfection is worth the personal cost. Inspired by true events, The Great Arch explores ambition, illusion, and the tension between individual vision and collective reality.
