48-Hour Film Challenge: Screening Overview

“It may sound easy, but nothing could be harder. It will test your head, and your mind, and your brain, too.” —Dewey Finn (Jack Black), School of Rock

Celebrate the next wave of emerging filmmakers with this screening of all of the films shot during the 48-Hour Film Challenge. School of Rock takes centre stage at this year’s event, with 25 short films inspired by the electrically charming cult classic.

Following the screening at TIFF Lightbox, continue the celebrations at the Downtown Movies in the Park free outdoor presentation of School of Rock at David Pecaut Square, featuring performances by local bands The Sedges and Life Sized. The feature will be preceded by a screening of this year’s winning 48-Hour Film Challenge short, as announced by the jury and with an introduction by the TIFF Next Wave Committee.

The 48-Hour Film Challenge is co-presented by TIFF Next Wave, Future of Film Showcase, and POV.
