Hard-luck metalhead Dean Murdoch (Paul Spence) takes us back to the '80s, before he was a hard rock superstar. We seen Dean back when he was a teen, living with his parents and sister, when being a hockey jock was a badge of honour, Jazzercise was a national movement, seatbelts were optional, and teachers were as drunk as their students.
Dean receives a box from his recently deceased father, and discovers he was adopted. His parents tell him and his sister about their backgrounds and when Dean opens the box, it sends him off on a different journey.
