MUR - You Romance Overview

Musical "You [Romance]" in cinema! It is Ukraine's first original historical musical, offering a unique opportunity to witness past-century writers as living, breathing people. The story revolves around Slovo House in Kharkiv, a building where the Soviet regime executed hundreds of members of Ukraine's early 20th-century creative elite. This production sweeps away the dust of time from the names of Mykola Khvylovy, Les Kurbas, Volodymyr Sosiura, Mykhailo Semenko, and others. For the first time, events such as poet Pavlo Tychyna's betrayal, Sosiura's service in the Third Assault Brigade, the execution of every second Ukrainian writer at Slovo House, and Khvylovy's tragic suicide are set to music.
