Cameron (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) falls for Bianca (Larisa Oleynik), but she's forbidden to date by her protective father unless her older sister Kat (Julia Stiles) goes out, too. The only problem is, Kat makes every effort to be as unpleasant as possible -- especially to boys. She just wants to be left alone.
Meanwhile, Joey Donner (Andrew Keegan) also wants to date Bianco, so he bribes Patrick -- a mysterious bad-boy (Heath Ledger) -- to win Kat's heart and ask her to the prom, so Bianca can go too.
Based on Shakespeare's Taming of the Shrew.
