Monkey Kingdom
trailer
A toque monkey named Maya is part of a troupe of monkeys that live in Sri Lanka. The troupe has a hierarchy and Maya is at the bottom. She and the other lower-ranking monkeys scour the vicinity for food and a safe place to sleep at night.
When a single male monkey tries to join the troupe, he's chased off, but not before he makes a connection with Maya, resulting in a newborn several months later. He returns and helps her raise the infant.
Their struggle to live a secure and safe life within the ranks of the animal kingdom are well documented and shed light onto the lives of wild monkeys.
